These panoramas show the Spring of 2004 as it comes to the corner of Lippitt and Lanewood.

5 March 2004
Rather later than last year, the trees are still almost completely bare.

18 March 2004
Now some of the trees, particularly on the right hand side of the picture, or beginning to leaf out, and the redbuds are also beginning to be quite showy.

21 March 2004
What an amazing difference in three days!

29 March 2004
While the pecan tree in the center of the picture still is leafless, most other trees have at least the start of a canopy, and the redbuds have already faded from their pinkish glory.

10 April 2004
Now the tree in the center, the pecan, is just starting to bud, and the oak on the left is filling in.

14 April 2004
Most trees are now full in their crowns, and the pecan in the center is still only beginning to leaf out.

19 April 2004
Five more days, and there is considerable change in the pecan at the center.
Fall 2003
This is a set of panoramas of Fall as it came to a corner of Lochwood Park in 2003. Each picture was taken from the corner of Lippitt and Lanewood. The first sets the scene as the corner looks before fall comes, even while it was taken three days after fall officially begins on the calendar.

27 September 2003

18 October 2003
This is still little change, but that will not be true for long!

28 October 2003
The leaves are changing colors, but leaf cover is still quite heavy.

3 December 2003
I missed a month and look what happened! I'll try to do a fuller set next year.

Spring 2001
|
|||||||||
| These are panoramic pictures designed to show the progress of Spring in 2001 from the corner of Lanewood and Lippitt at the south-east corner of Lochwood Park. Each picture is made up of three images taken at the same time, from the same place. My goal was to show the subtle and complex way that the leaves come back to the trees, and the way this slow progress looks, at least to the camera. I will be adding more images as new things strike me. | |||||||||
