2015 is beginning cold, rainy, and dreary here in Dallas, but it is a great day to be out anyway. It was very quiet in the park this afternoon, other than the wonderful sound of the stream, fuller than usual with the rain runoff. Almost no birds, or anything else, moving about. A few blue jays, a red-bellied woodpecker, a ruby-crowned kinglet, a cardinalall heard, and a small flock of ring-billed gulls flying over. House sparrows, white-winged doves, and a mockingbird at the Koch’s feeder. Little else.It would be interesting to see how many birds I can find in Lochwood Park this year. Any guesses? How did your new year begin?
